We plan to create a database system that will improve the customer service and operations of Crowley & Company. Our database will allow the firm to keep track of its customers, their appointments, and the status of their clients’ returns. Under the current system, the firm deals with an extensive paper trail when searching for customer information. Often, the employees have to go directly to the owner of the firm to obtain contact information for their clients, which are kept in his personal cell phone. Under our new format, the employees will be able to find and use customer information much more quickly. A query can be created to find how many client returns have been completed, or to figure out which clients are corporate or private. It could even help the employees to recall a client’s contact information to update them on the process of tax filing. This system will be able to be accessed by any firm accountant at any time, no matter if their boss is busy or not.
